Class Schedules for the
2010-2011 Fall Session
Classes start the week of August 30.
Classes are determined by your student's age, classes taken, skills, and preferences. In many cases, a student must be approved by the teacher to take classes with pre-requisites or skill requirements. The teacher and the Director of Education have the last word on whether a student qualifies for a class. NOTE: There is a dress code for dance classes. See the Dress Code table below for details.
For students interested in a progressive core curriculum that prepares them for college theater classes, please see the last table.

CATS Studio of Performing Arts
|
|
The Studio of Performing Arts is a new concept at CATS. This provides curriculum guidance to students who are dedicated to studying the skills and techniques of theater and receiving a well-rounded theater education consisting of training in all disciplines of the arts, including acting, musical theater, dance, technical theater, and live stage production. By taking these classes while here at CATS, a student will experience the full range of theater skills that will equip them to move into a career in performing arts or a university BFA program.
Using the age groups below, select classes that cover your age-appropriate skills and follow the curriculum tracks throughout your student's time at CATS.

Specializations
|
Once students have followed through with their basic curriclum recommendation, then we suggest that you develop a specialization to focus on (Performance Acting / Performance Musical Theater / Technical Theater) and take classes where you audition for advanced workshops and classes (from Performance Touring Companies, ImprovIt! Troupe, Master's Studio Class, Technical Theater Practicum, or Costume Design Practicum). And audition for every production at CATS and other theaters in DFW.
